Best places to live in Florida
Moving to Florida can be a difficult task on just where do you want to live. The East Coast or the West Coast is usually your first two choices. Once you decide East or West than we can narrow it down from there. Both sides are very nice yet quite different in terms of culture, crowds and weather. You will either love one side or the other as they are so different. What is the best places to live in Florida then? I’m an East coast guy all the way. I’ve visited the West coast and yes the beaches are white sandy beaches but that is where it ends for me.
Once you decide on the East coast of Florida you have Dade County, Broward County, Palm Beach County and Martin County make up South Florida. Once you hit St. Lucie County you are are the tip of South Florida and start to get into Central Florida. Vero Beach will usually have a 10 degree difference than say Jupiter Florida. The further South you go the more congested it will be. I have lived in Boca Raton and Jupiter Fl since 1979 so I have a good knowledge of the areas and what each is best known for. The only factor that fits all of the towns is they continue to get more crowded. I’m going to talk about Palm Beach County and what you may find in this general area. In Boca Raton you will find a busy Downtown with shops and restaurants around the Mizner Park area which is less than a mile to the beach. Along the beach you will find mostly condos and on the West side of the Intracoastal you will find older Florida homes. Many are being torn down and replaced with the mini-mansions. Delray Beach is just a few minutes North and famous for the Atlantic Ave which hosts restaurants, bars and shopping in a quaint downtown feel. In the past 10 years growth around Atlantic Ave has sprawled with townhouse development after townhouse development. The Boca Raton real estate market continues to be a popular area for snowbirds looking for a city feel to the community.
Best Places to Live in Florida – Tough Choices.
Moving North you will pass through Boynton Beach, Lake Worth and West Palm Beach just before hitting Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter. Palm Beach Gardens is the new Boca Raton in Northern Palm Beach County. Malls, restaurants, downtown city shops and lifestyle along with several country club communities. Jupiter and Tequesta are the Delray Beach equivalent to Boca Raton but not near as busy as Delray Beach. Jupiter has doubled in size in the past 15 years but still remains a small town feel compared to it’s Southern neighbors. Jupiter real estate consists of beach communities, country club communities and actual country living in the Farms. Abacoa is probably one of the largest communities and newest Jupiter community. Don’t forget Singer Island which features Florida condo living as well as beach homes.
Jupiter Real Estate
Even with tremendous growth Jupiter still has a small town feel with their Funky Fishing Village with a boardwalk along the Intracoastal and shops and restaurants on the water. You won’t find the tourist crowds you find down South but once season hits it can be busy. There are plenty of great restaurants and the Gardens Mall is 10 minutes away. You will find many parks such as Carlin Park at the beach, Jonathan Dickinson for biking and hiking and Blowing Rocks on Jupiter Island for some great snorkeling. Along the beach you will find a nice bike path and of course our Jupiter dog beach.
